We produce hydrogen ourselves and have been supplying customers for more than 40 years with Hydrogen as a gas. As the operator of one of Germany's first stationary hydrogen filling stations and users of hydrogen vehicles, we also know the side of the users. Maximum flexibility: Mobile trailer solution enables research in the engine test bench.

The Rostock Research Centre for Combustion Engines and Thermodynamics (FVTR) uses Westfalen Group infrastructure and hydrogen for research and development of new fuel processes. For this purpose, Westfalen built a supply line on site. This consists, among other things, of a hydrogen trailer and piping with outlets for various test benches.

New ways: Pilot project supplies residential buildings with hydrogen via an existing natural gas network.

In the Dutch municipality of Lochem, eleven homes are currently being heated with hydrogen via an existing natural gas network. In the pilot project, gas and electricity grid operator Alliander is investigating the extent to which hydrogen is suitable for heating houses. Westfalen Gassen Nederland, a subsidiary of the Westfalen Group, has designed and built a plant for this purpose, which introduces the hydrogen into the natural gas network.

Full power: Electrolyser to supply green hydrogen for battery research.

Together with regional partners, the Westfalen Group wants to build and operate a high-performance hydrogen production plant in Münster. Stadtwerke Münster and Stadtnetze Münster would supply the electrolyser with green electricity. The Fraunhofer Forschungsfertigung Batteriezelle FFB would be the main customer. A feasibility study is to clarify how the project can be implemented with the participation of other users.

Hydrogen for fuel cells according to DIN EN 17124.

Vehicles powered by fuel cells impress with their long ranges and short refuelling times. For the fuel cell to function optimally, the purity grade of the refuelled hydrogen must be suitable. Our product for fuel cells complies with the DIN EN 17124 standard with a purity level of 99.97 %. It is regularly analysed for secondary components and thus ensures the highest level of safety.
