Compressed climate friendliness.
CNG at Westfalen.
In many German cities, the EU limits for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) have been exceeded for years. Diesel driving bans are supposed to provide a remedy. However, much more is needed to achieve the climate protection goals. In addition, more and more customers are demanding emission-free delivery.
Accept the challenge and take advantage of the opportunities that arise. Now!
Due to its shorter range compared to LNG, bio-CNG is recommended for light and heavy commercial vehicle fleets in local transport as well as for municipal vehicles with an annual mileage of up to 100,000 kilometres.
What is CNG?
Compressed natural gas (methane) is actually a fossil fuel. However, since much less CO2 is released during combustion than with conventional fuels, CNG is much more climate-friendly.
Natural gas vehicles are
The technology has been tested for many years in the passenger car sector.
If CNG is produced from renewable raw materials or waste products such as straw, manure, slurry or food residues, it is referred to as bio-CNG or bio-methane.
Economical. Safe. Clean.
Making transport and city centres more sustainable and greener with bio-CNG: Together!
The conditions for rapid CNG market development are good.
A wide range of commercial and municipal vehicles is already available. The only thing missing for a rapid market ramp-up is the availability of CNG filling stations. There are about 850 natural gas filling stations in Germany. However, a large number of them are not suitable for refuelling natural gas commercial vehicles. On the one hand, the pre-compressed natural gas buffer quantity in the dispenser is not sufficient for refuelling trucks. On the other hand, they are difficult to access by large transport vehicles due to the often cramped condition. Around 70 % of passenger car filling stations already offer environmentally friendly bio-CNG.
For this reason, we are expanding the network of bio-CNG (bio-methane) filling stations nationwide. In the process, we coordinate closely with freight forwarders, transport and logistics companies as well as municipalities, which guarantee a basic utilisation of the CNG station. This gives both sides planning security.
Your advantages of a strategic partnership with Westfalen:
We build and operate public bio-CNG filling stations with a high level of convenience:
Construction of a public bio-CNG filling station in Coesfeld.
We are looking forward to being able to initiate a promising project in Coesfeld together with a strong partner such as REMONDIS.
The public bio-CNG filling station to be built at Dreischkamp 38 on the EIWO Truckwash site will be open 24/7 and equipped with two lanes and weather protection. The opening is planned for summer this year.
